About Bunbury Bus Service

Bunbury Bus Service is a locally owned and operated family Company that is based in Bunbury, Western Australia and has been operating in the Southwest for over 20 years, with over 40 years of Passenger Transport experience.

Established in 2005, BBS started out with only a dozen vehicles and provided hire & charter services to the general public as well as schools, sporting bodies, government and corporate clients.

BBS grew significantly whilst undertaking a number of major construction projects in and around the Southwest, after which we started to diversify, by adding some government contracted regular school bus services, in an effort to help provide a more stable income base going forward.

From humble beginnings, the BBS fleet has grown considerably, however we still consider themselves to be a boutique bus company as we strive to provide close customer contact and bespoke solutions to suit their customers individual requirements.

Bunbury Bus Service provide our clients with guaranteed continuity of service and seamless problem-solving solutions.

We operate a fleet of over 35 modern, well-equipped vehicles ranging from 11 to 57 seats most of which are compliant to Mine Specification. We utilise GPS tracking, incorporating an AI driven, ‘In Vehicle Fatigue Management System’, including seatbelt monitoring technology, as well as industry leading, pre-shift, alcohol testing equipment with facial recognition and temperature testing capabilities. We provide purpose-built vehicles with extra leg room to accommodate even the most discerning passengers. We are large enough to provide excellent coverage and backup, whilst small enough to be flexible & agile.

BBS are Licenced Charter operators with the West Australian Department of Transport and hold an Authorised ‘On Demand Booking Service’ Licence. We have a comprehensive Health, Safety & Environmental Management plan (HSEMP) including vehicle risk management and employee fatigue management schedules. We have also adopted regular, random drug & alcohol testing of our personnel but in particular, we pride themselves on their ‘perfect’ safety record to date.

With a number of externally owned, national bus operators in the region, BBS likes to differentiate by being locally owned and presenting a bespoke attitude towards its services, BBS strive to provide close customer contact with specialist booking professionals that examine every aspect of the undertaking, so as to recommend to the client the safest and most efficient solution.

Meet Our Team

Brad Pilatti – Founder and Managing Director

With over 40 years in passenger transport, founder Brad Pilatti established Bunbury Bus Service in 2005 after managing his family’s bus business in Collie where the business transported mine workers to the Collie coal mines, as well as providing local school and charter services. He now oversees all business operations and personally leads the industrial staff transport division, focusing on compliance and high standards.

Cathryn Knapp – Admin & HR Manager

Administration and HR manager Cathryn understands all facets of the business and efficiently deals with bookings, accounts and employee relations in a very friendly and refreshing manner. Cathryn is a vital link in our management triangle but as with all our managers, she also enjoys driving duties when required.

Lance Chapman – Workshop Manager

Lance Chapman is our workshop manager and is responsible for keeping our vehicles maintained to the highest standard, with a no-nonsense attitude, Lance treats the business as if it was his own and gives our customers peace of mind in that the safety and reliability of our fleet is of the highest standard.

Kelly Hutchinson – Bookings and Wedding Specialist

Kelly is our charter booking and wedding specialists, Kelly has extensive experience in the travel industry and brings this, along with her bus operator knowledge, to guarantee our customers the very best advice when considering their transport options. Kelly leaves no stone unturned and researches every booking to eliminate any issues that may arise, Kelly is a very attentive coach driver and also doubles as our driver training officer.

Brock Pilatti – Fleet Manager

Brock Pilatti is continuing in the family tradition and currently looks after our cleaning & maintenance crew, the presentation of our vehicles is very important to us and must meet our customers’ expectations, so we rely heavily on Brock and his team. You will also find Brock performing driving duties most weeks as he has become an extremely competent operator.
